60 saplings of medicinal plants were planted on Monday across the premises of The National Museum of Science and Technology to mark the auspicious month of August. The Director General of the Museum Mohammad Munir Chowdhury planted 25 Agar, 5 Olive, 5 Bahera and 5 Olive saplings at gate No. 1 of the museum along with the employees and students of the organization.
In a short speech organized on the occasion, the Director General of National Museum of Science and Technology emphasized the importance of greening the rooftops, balconies and courtyards of every house, and taking care of the trees and birds living in the city and protecting the environment.
In the event, 40 saplings were presented to the National Science and Technology Museum as a memorial gift in memory of the bereaved August by a national non-governmental social development organization called ‘Buro’ Bangladesh. The organization has implemented tree plantation programs in various educational institutions and government institutions.
Ahead of this, the National Science and Technology Museum conducted a month-long tree plantation program from June 1-31. The science museum authority said that the process of transforming the entire museum including the museum premises, museum roof into a unique eco-friendly institution will continue.
