Dealers and buyers are being contacted to take back a total of 209 of their battery-powered electric trucks on the market, a Nicola spokesman told Reuters. In a statement on the battery fire incident, Nicola said, ‘It is highly unlikely that the problem was caused by mishandling or any other external cause. They are trying to solve the problem.’
An internal investigation by Nicola’s safety and engineering teams identified a single supply component within the battery pack as the likely source of the coolant leak, the company said. Due to which the truck caught fire.
