According to the news, Toyota has sold 54 lakh 20 thousand units of cars worldwide till January-June this year. This includes the sale of Toyota Motor Group’s small vehicle maker Daihatsu and truck maker Hino Motors. Overall, Toyota’s car sales increased by 5.5 percent compared to the same period last year.
Despite the challenge of global chip shortages, the company has been able to achieve strong sales by increasing global production capacity to meet growing demand.
Toyota’s global production reached 5.63 million units, an increase of 10.3 percent. Besides, production outside Japan increased by 4.9 percent to exceed 3.53 million vehicle units. With this, production reached an all-time record high.
