Japanese automotive companies have expressed interest in investing in Bangladesh. At the same time, the country’s IT institutions have expressed interest in hiring engineers from this country.

According to the source of the meeting, there was a detailed discussion about the development of the information technology sector of Bangladesh and how to work jointly in building a smart Bangladesh through Japan-Bangladesh mutual cooperation. The meeting also discussed increasing business cooperation and startup exchange between the Japanese private sector and Bangladeshi IT firms.
The ICT State Minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak said that through the Enhancing Digital Government and Economy (EDGE) Project, the ICT Division will undertake skill development programs according to the needs of Japan’s IT sector. He sought JETRO’s cooperation to bring Japanese investment in high-tech parks in Bangladesh.
ICT Division Secretary Md. Samsul Arefin along with related officers of JETRO were present in the meeting.
