After the first divisional conference was over, the two-day long ‘BPO Conference 2023’ will be held for the fifth time at Ruposhi Bangla Grand Ballroom of InterContinental Hotel and Resort in the capital on July 22. Speaker of Jatiya Sangsad Dr. Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury will inaugurate the conference. ICT State Minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak preside over the event while BTRC Chairman Shyam Sundar Sikdar, Information and Communication Technology Division Secretary Md. Samsul Arefin and Information and Communication Technology Directorate General Director Md. Mostafa Kamal will be present.
Besides, Minister of Posts and Telecommunications, Mustafa Jabbar, will adorn the closing ceremony as the chief guest. Tapan Kanti Ghosh, Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce will be present as the special guest.
BACCO general secretary Tauhid Hossain conveyed the piece of information in a press conference held at BACCO office in Banani on Wednesday (July 19) highlighting the preparations for the conference. He said, ‘More than two and a half thousand job applications have been submitted in the BPO summits held in the divisional cities. We have taken up various programs to prepare the young job seekers in the BPO sector. Resumes will be collected from interested job seekers during the two-day conference in Dhaka as well.
BACCO president Wahid Sharif presided over the press conference while the joint general secretary Tanjirul Bashar, director Ahmedul Islam Babu and Md. Fazlul Haque were present.
In the press conference, BACCO President Waheed Sharif said, ‘We have already organized BPO summits in all the divisional cities of the country and have received a good response in each one. As many as nine seminars are scheduled on BPO sector in this conference. The seminars will discuss challenges and preparations to achieve the target of employment of 100,000 people and revenue of USD 100 million in Bangladesh’s BPO sector by 2025. Entrepreneurship guidance is also available from freelancers. This is the first time that the seminars of the BPO Summit will be broadcast live online.
It was informed in the press conference that seminars on 9 important topics of BPO sector will be held on two days of the conference. 6 seminars will be held on the first day itself. The seminars will also run online in hybrid mode. Domestic and foreign negotiators will shed light on the challenges and preparations to achieve the target of 100,000 jobs and 5 billion dollars in revenue in the BPO sector of Bangladesh in the seminar. They will also present the strategy of becoming an entrepreneur from a freelancer.
