Lands Minister Saifuzzaman Chowdhury said that the Ministry of Lands has taken measures to notify the date of the Namjari (Mutation) hearing by phone using artificial intelligence (AI) technology. After completion of Namjari, service recipient can also give feedback about the quality of service.
Lands Minister Saifuzzaman Chowdhury inaugurated the related ‘Country-wide assessment of quality of land services through artificial intelligence and notification of smart mutation hearing’ at the Bhumi Bhaban Auditorium located in Tejgaon of the capital on Sunday. Land Secretary Md. Khalilur Rahman presided over the event.
While speaking as the Chief Guest, the Lands Minister Saifuzzaman Chowdhury said that by launching this service program today, the Ministry of Lands has entered a new era by starting to provide land services with the help of the technology of the fourth industrial revolution (4IR) – which is really a huge achievement – a revolution.
Saifuzzaman Chowdhury said that the Land Ministry is a service-oriented ministry. We are working with that in mind and trying to do what we are doing sustainably. We are setting up the system in such a way that there is no scope for corruption. But we think the land ministry still has a long way to go – he added this time.
The land minister informed about the plan to set up service centers in every district of the country in continuation of the success of the civic service center established in Bhoomi Bhaban in the capital.
The minister also said that the ‘one-way’ system of calling the date of the mutation hearing will be upgraded to ‘two-way’ from this September; As a result, citizens will be able to participate in the conversation and learn more about the services they have applied for. Besides, considering the citizens living in different parts of the country, whether this service can be provided in different regional languages including Sylhet, Chattogram will also be verified.
Land Secretary Md. Khalilur Rahman said that keeping the government’s plan to build a smart Bangladesh by 2041, the Ministry of Land is constantly working to make land services people-friendly by using smart technology.
DKMP Division of the Ministry of Land Joint Secretary Dr. Md. Zahid Hossain Panir presented a pictorial about the program inaugurated. For the first time among the government departments of Bangladesh, the Ministry of Lands launched the Artificial Intelligence (AI) run automatic voice call system.
The Ministry of Lands has taken a step forward in providing multi-channel customer service with the introduction of artificial intelligence technology to automatically inform the citizens of the date of the registration hearing by calling their mobile numbers. Artificial intelligence will gradually be added to other ground services.
In addition, they can give feedback about the quality of the registered services of all Upazila land offices in Bangladesh. For this, an automated phone call will be made after receiving the service applied for. Through this, citizens can express their satisfaction or dissatisfaction with the issue of mutation. The cause of dissatisfaction regarding the decision of a specific namajari case will be digitally collected and soon displayed on the dashboard land.gov.bd which will come under regular monitoring. Feedback received will be monitored and analyzed and action will be taken as required.
Chairman of Land Reforms Board Md. Abu Bakar Siddiqui and Chairman of Land Appeal Board AKM Shamimul Haque Siddiqui were present as special guests in the opening ceremony. Director General of Land Records and Survey Department, Md. Abdul Barik, among others, were present in the program along with various officials of the Ministry of Lands and its affiliated offices and field level land offices.
