Apple has long been waiting to launch its payment feature called Apple Pay in India. According to GSMArena, Apple is talking with local regulatory bodies. Especially with NPCI, the special branch of Reserve Bank of India, the central bank of the country.
According to news agency ANI, Tim Cook has met with Indian authorities to discuss a local version of Apple Pay. Apple Pay customers can scan QR codes and make UPI transactions without using third-party apps. Besides, Apple wants to facilitate users to make UPI transactions using the Face ID feature.
