Smart Leadership Academy (SDLA) officially started its activities on Thursday through a ‘Smart Leadership’ workshop with 350 parliamentarians of the country. On the first day, a vision of what Smart Bangladesh will look like in 2041 was presented. Various strategies for developing smart leadership skills were highlighted.
At noon, the speaker of Jatiya Sangsad .Dr. Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury inaugurated this SDLA, conducted under the Enhancing Digital Government and Economy Project, by touching the palms of her hands on the stage of the celebrity hall of the Bangabandhu International Conference Center. Bangabandhu’s index finger came to the screen as soon as she touched the palm.
Meanwhile, Speaker Shirim Sharmin said that there is no need to spend a lot of money to go to Singapore for training through Smart Leadership Academy. This will save the cost of government and The speaker said that this step of the government is to make every citizen a smart leader. He expects that this academy will soon become a state of excellence.
He said, technology is an evolving issue. What is there today changes after a few days. So keeping these things in mind this academy should be world class. To stay connected with the world, you have to stay with technology. Information technology has brought our life into our hands. So technology has to be assimilated. You have to make yourself competent. If not, it will fall.
Earlier, ICT State Minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak, President of Smart Leadership Academy, presented the ‘Smart Leadership for Smart Bangladesh’ presentation.
He said, the world is now going into a crosscut situation. Some new technologies have drastically changed this period. Whether we like it or not social media, AI, biotechnology are changing our lives. But we need to know how to use them so that they do not go against humanity. We have to use challenges like Bangabandhu and Prime Minister as opportunities. And the Prime Minister wants to take Bangladesh as a soft super power by 2041.
In his speech, he highlighted the leadership model of Bangabandhu and the Prime Minister and said that the leadership strategy of Bangabandhu is being followed all over the world during the transition period of Corona pandemic.
Advocate Md. Shamsul Haque Tuku, Deputy Speaker of Jatiya Sangsad, spoke among others.
Jatiya Sangsad Secretariat’s Senior Secretary K. Abdus Salam said in his welcome speech that Jatiya Sangsad has become fully digital through 28 software. E-documents have been launched.
Chief Whip Noor-e-Alam Chowdhury was the chief guest at the ceremony. Md. Samsul Arefin, Secretary of the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology delivered a welcome speech.
In the event, two topics titled ‘Fourth Industrial Revolution: The Challenges and Opportunities’ and ‘Social Media for Development and Democracy’ were discussed by the President of Asia Marketing Federation, Syed Farhat Anwar, Tanmoy Ahmed of Center for Research and Information ( CRI ), Maruf Hasan of Agakhan Academy and Hasan Benaul of The Piper.
