Retired Brigadier General SM Farhad, Secretary General of the Association of Mobile Telecom Operators of Bangladesh, left after the contract period. He was replaced by retired Lt Col Mohammad Zulfikar on the first day of the new fiscal year. He joined the new workplace in Gulshan on Thursday.
AMTOB’s new Secretary General, a graduate in computer engineering from BUET, was in charge of the chief executive officer of InfoZillion, the country’s only MNP (Mobile Number Portability) service company. Earlier he served as the Director of Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Authority (BTRC). Earlier, Mohammad Zulfikar was the deputy director of NSI. He has served Bangladesh Army for 25 years efficiently in various positions related to Telecom and IT.
It may be noted that, Grameenphone, Banglalink, Robi, Teletalk and Citicell are members of AMTOB and mobile network solution providers Ericsson, Huawei and Nokia are associate members.
