WhatsApp has recently introduced a new feature through which the users will be able to lock individual chats through passwords or biometrics. This feature will allow WhatsApp users to increase the security of their messages and protect their privacy. This feature will help them especially if they have any confidential or private conversations that they don’t want to show to anyone else.
The new ‘Chat Lock’ feature on WhatsApp will allow users to hide conversations in a separate folder. This folder can only be accessed using their device password or biometric. When a chat is locked, the feature will also hide the conversation content in notifications.
How to use this feature?
Download or update WhatsApp first. Make sure you have the latest version of WhatsApp on your Android or iOS device. You can download the app from the respective app store.
Open WhatsApp and go to the specific chat you want to lock. Now click on the profile picture of that chat. Then select the ‘Chat Lock’ feature.
Turning on Chat Lock will prompt you to activate it. After activating it, you need to verify your phone using password or biometric.
