Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal warned that legal action will be taken if modern technology is misused. The Home Minister passed this warning message during an exchange of views with local public representatives and activists at the Municipal Modern Community Center of Chandina Upazila in Cumilla on Saturday.
While speaking as the chief guest, he said that modern technology cannot be misused in any way. Those who abuse, must face the law.
Addressing the journalists, the Home Minister said, ‘None of you will publish fake news, you will not do any purposeful campaign. No one should promote fake news on Facebook’.
The minister said that the Prime Minister declared to build a digital Bangladesh in 2008, then many people laughed. Today we are getting its benefits. We have taken a position all over the world because we are digitized. To build a smart Bangladesh, we need to build a smart society, smart economy, and smart citizens. And for building smart economy, we have to develop world famous doctors like Professor Dr. Pran Gopal Dutta.
He further added that ‘There is no alternative to Sheikh Hasina in building a smart Bangladesh. The only alternative to Sheikh Hasina is Sheikh Hasina. As long as Sheikh Hasina lives, Bangladesh will shine up’.
Member of Parliament Dr. Pran Gopal Dutta presided over the meeting while the Cumilla North District Awami League President Mu. Ruhul Amin, Chandina Upazila Parishad Chairman valiant freedom fighter Tapan spoke.
Comilla Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Shamim Alam, Superintendent of Police Abdul Mannan, District and Upazila Awami League, Jubo League, Sechchhasebak League, Krishak League Chhatra League and all Union Parishad chairmen and local leaders were also present in the event.
