Currently, in the booming market of electric two-wheelers, almost all companies are launching electric versions of bikes and scooters. Companies that haven’t done so yet are also expressing their desire to unveil such a model. This time, the news of the famous retro bike maker Royal Enfield’s electric bike came to the fore.
Royal Enfield may unveil electric motorbike next year. According to sources, they have acquired 60 acres of land in the suburbs of Chennai, India, to build a new factory. There are plans to invest Rs. 1,000-1,500 crore in the next few years. Investments will be made depending on the final production capacity.
The prototype version of the motorcycle will be unveiled in the current financial year itself while the final model will be unveiled in 2024. The new plant in Tamil Nadu will be used as a manufacturing facility for petrol models of Royal Enfield.
So far, however, no detailed information about the Royal Enfield electric bike has come to the fore. Reports claim that it will come with a 96-volt high-performance system.
