The Internet Service Providers Association of Bangladesh- ISPAB, has had the busiest year in its history. Within a year, the organization has set up NICs, established labs and conducted more than fifty training programs in three places of the country to ensure uninterrupted internet services at the grassroots level. Even after meeting the expenses, the amount of surplus money in the fund of the organization turned about six crore taka. The ISPAB president Imdadul Haque said that the plan has already been finalized in the EGM to purchase own land in Purbachal with this money. He also said that the highest level of the government has assured the inclusion of this service as ITES in the coming budget.
The ISPAB President confirmed this information at the 20th Annual General Meeting of ISPAB held at Kurmitla Army Golf Club in the capital on Tuesday. Senior Vice President Saiful Islam Siddique, Vice President Anwarul Azim, Secretary General Nazmul Karim Bhunya, Joint Secretary General Rashed Qayyum and Mohammad Anwar Hossain; Treasurer Md. Asaduzzaman Sujan, Md. Zakir Hossain, Mahbub Alam and Sakif Ahmed were present at the AGM.
ISPAB conducted Iftar and Dua’ Mahfil at the same venue after the Annual General Meeting. Apart from technologists and leaders of various organizations in this sector, media person and BTRC Chairman Shyam Sundar Shikder were present on the occasion. The Director General of BTRC Brigadier General Md Nasim Parvez, Director Taleb Hossain, Abdur Razzak and GM Kamal Hossain of Submarine Cable Limited were also present at the event.
Also BACCO President Waheed Sharif, BASIS Director Abu Dawood Khan, Vice President, IIG Forum Secretary General Ahmed Junayed, Story to Tell Founder Iqbal Bahar, BIGF General Secretary Mohammad Abdul Haque, BIGF President Nazneen Nahar, TMGB President Md Kaushar Uddin, Bangladesh Freelancer Development Society. The founding president Dr. Tanjiba Rahman, Women IGF Secretary Farha Mahmud Trina and others participated in the Iftar and Dua’ Mahfil.
Earlier, ISPAB General Secretary Nazmul Karim Bhunya presented the 19th minutes of the meeting in the presence of about 1600 members and passed it by voice vote. In addition, Treasurer Md. Asaduzzaman Sujan presented the annual report and audited financial report of 2022. He also presented the financial budget action plan for the next year in the meeting. Based on the detailed discussion and opinions of the members present, the activities of 2022, approval of audited financial report and appointment of auditor for 2023 and the budget of the association for the next year were approved.
