The ICT State Minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak inaugurated the seamless mobile banking service ‘Meghna Pay’ on Tuesday night. While speaking as the chief guest at the unveiling ceremony of this service held at Hotel Westin, he said that the world is now being controlled by soft power. Stating that the country has become a ‘less-cash society’ in just 14 years, the state minister also said that Bangladesh has become a champion in mobile finance due to the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Palak said, the main force behind the interoperable digital platform ‘Binimoy’ has saved 65 crores of cash through ‘Parichay’. The government is working to develop the future youth as ‘innovative intelligence’ to provide such services.
The Managing Director of Nagad, Tanveer A Mishuk, expressed his gratitude to the chief guest of the event, ICT State Minister Junaid Ahmed Palak, for reducing the cost of Nagad by 65 percent for the ‘Parichay’platform and creating competition in the cash market. He said that Nagad is bringing three new services within the next month. Through this, there will be one on March 23.
