State Minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak has called for spreading Bangabandhu’s philosophy of love, peace and freedom among the youth. Addressing the younger generation, he said, “If you want to know about Bangabandhu’s political philosophy, you should always keep in mind that Bangabandhu worked as a political activist for most of his life. But he always preferred non-violent and peaceful programs.”
Palak opines that the assurance of a minimum happy and honest life will open up a welfare society for all.
In his welcome address to the discussion titled ‘Love, Peace and Freedom: Bangabandhu’s Political Philosophy’ on Friday night (August 27), Palak highlighted the basic aspects of Bangabandhu’s political philosophy.
He quoted Bangabandhu as saying, ‘As a human being, I think of the whole human race. As a Bengali, what is related to Bengalis concern me deeply. The source of this constant saturation is love, everlasting love, the love that makes my politics and existence meaningful. ‘
In 1972, while answering a question of David Frost in an interview in London, about his strength and weakness, Bangabandhu answered his love for the people as his strength and his excessive love as his greatest weakness. In 1975, in the deadly night of August 15, that Bangabandhu, along with most of his family members were brutally assassinated, mourned Palak.
The state minister further added that Bangabandhu lead his movement for poor peasants and even for fourth class employees of Dhaka University. To assure peace to the people of the country and ensure freedom, Bangabandhu lead all his movements.
He added that Bangabandhu has made a fierce movement against the deprivation of people in his political life. But he never deviated from his nonviolent-peaceful stance.
Quoting Bangabandhu, Palak said peace is indispensable for the survival and protection of mankind. It contains all the hopes and aspirations of mankind. Peace does not sustain unless it is based on justice. There is no doubt that peace is not possible without international cooperation and partnership.
The Minister stressed on the need for united and concerted efforts to build a peaceful world free from the threat of nuclear war by acquiring equitable distribution of resources and knowledge of world technology.
This one-hour theoretical discussion on the political philosophy of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was held centering on the twin journey of Bangabandhu and Bangladesh.

Dhaka University Professor Dr. Fakhrul Alam (translator, Unfinished Memoir of Bangabandhu), veteran media personality Syed Badrul Ahsan and NM Zeaul Alam, senior secretary of the ICT department spoke in the program.
To present the important moments of Bangabandhu’s life in front of the young generations on the journey to the establishment of Bangladesh, the discussion program titled ‘Love, Peace and Freedom: Bangabandhu’s Political Philosophy’ was organized by Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority and ICT Department.
