The building in Sheorapara area of Kafrul police station from which stone was pelted has been identified. Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) Managing Director (MD) MAN Siddique said that the ‘stone pelting building’ was identified by looking at the nearby CCTV cameras with the help of law enforcement agencies.
In his speech to the media on Saturday, the MD said that the building has been identified with the help of law enforcement agencies. Legal action will be taken against whoever pelted stones.
Last Sunday (April 30) around 11:30 am, a glass was damaged when stones were thrown at the metro rail in Sheorapara area on the way from Agargaon to Uttara North station. At that time, the authorities said that there was a loss of Tk. 10 lakh due to the impact of stones on the glass. After that, the police and detectives entered the field to identify those involved in the incident.
According to the police authority, landlords have been instructed to ensure that no one can throw stones or anything at the metro rail from nearby buildings or fly a fanush (lanterns) from nearby. Officials investigating the case said that if someone causes any untoward incident from a building, legal action will be taken against both the person and the building owner.
