Another 60 Starlink satellites were added to orbit on Sunday. A Falcon 9 rocket of SpaceX has placed these satellites in orbit and has successfully returned to Earth.
Elon Musk’s company said landing on a drone ship in the Atlantic Ocean has been completed.
Last Sunday’s mission set a new record. It is the record number of ninth flights and landings of the Falcon 9 booster. It has also been used earlier as part of five Starlink satellites and DM-1 missions.
SpaceX is working to bring the world’s marginalized population under broadband internet service. The company has been allowed to install 12,000 satellites in low earth orbit under the scheme. More than 1,000 satellites have already been placed in orbit.
Since October, the company has been taking subscription fees of $499 for Wi-Fi routers, power supply, cables and mounting tripods and $99 per month for satellite broadband services.
StarLink currently services more than 10,000 North American customers under the BETA program. The company is also serving UK customers. Starlink’s satellite is constantly being added to orbit. The company is also offering the opportunity to register for global Starlink satellite broadband services.
