Samsung Electronics has launched its new Galaxy S25 series in a bid to reclaim its position in the competitive smartphone market. At an event held in California, the company revealed that the latest series is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Mobile Platform and Google’s Gemini AI model, according to a report by Reuters.
Samsung has maintained the pricing for this series, ranging from $799 to $1,299. The new phones are designed to offer a more personalized AI experience. One of its standout features, “Now Brief,” organizes user-specific information such as calendar events, news, and environmental data like home temperature and carbon dioxide levels.
Park Ji-soon, Executive Vice President of Samsung’s Language AI Team, stated, “We are a step ahead in introducing AI features.” However, analysts believe that the series lacks a defining “killer application” to captivate buyers.
This model marks Samsung’s full transition from its proprietary Exynos chips to Qualcomm processors, a move that could impact its chip business.
Additionally, Samsung announced that a slimmer version, the Galaxy S25 Edge, will be launched in the first half of this year. Experts suggest the success of the Galaxy S25 series could also influence the sales of Samsung’s foldable phones.
