Despite significant advancements in reducing bezel sizes in recent years, a truly bezel-less iPhone remains a distant goal for Apple. The tech giant has been collaborating with Samsung Display and LG Display to develop such screens, but mass production is yet to commence, according to GSM Arena.
Initially, Apple had planned to introduce a “zero-bezel” iPhone in 2025 or 2026. However, a recent report from South Korea suggests that achieving this by 2026 is unlikely due to the current limitations in necessary technology.
Apple envisions a design where the screen remains flat but features micro-curved edges, resembling the display of the Apple Watch. The curve would be engineered to eliminate any distortion at the edges, ensuring a seamless display experience.
However, this intricate design concept is not yet viable for mass production. As a result, the realization of a completely bezel-less iPhone may have to wait until 2027.
