Google CEO Sundar Pichai has described 2025 as the beginning of a new chapter in technological innovation, highlighting significant changes to Google’s search engine in the coming year. Speaking at the New York Times DealBook Summit, Pichai announced, “At the start of next year, we will introduce features to the search engine that will add a new dimension to user experience. We will be able to answer complex questions that were previously impossible.”
According to a report by The Verge, Google has already enhanced its search platform by integrating artificial intelligence (AI) technology. Features such as AI-powered summarization and advanced video-based search tools through Google Lens have been introduced. Furthermore, Pichai revealed that Google is set to release a major update to its Gemini AI model, claiming it will surpass AI search engines like Microsoft, OpenAI, and Perplexity in capabilities.
In a recent podcast by Norges Bank Investment Management, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella remarked that Google was expected to emerge as the leader in the AI race. Responding to this, Pichai said, “We are working on our own models, while Microsoft is reliant on OpenAI’s model. A direct comparison between the two companies’ AI models will make the distinction clear.”
Pichai reiterated Google’s commitment to leading the future development of artificial intelligence.
