A group of Chinese hackers has breached the networks of several major broadband internet providers in the United States, stealing sensitive information from the government’s judicial systems, according to reports from The Wall Street Journal and Reuters.
The hackers targeted networks of several telecommunications companies, including Verizon Communications, Lumen Technologies, and AT&T. Sources indicate that the hackers maintained access to these networks for several months, during which they stole data not only from the telecom companies but also from the locations where their services were provided.
None of the affected companies have officially commented on the breaches so far.
In response to these allegations, China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs dismissed the claims, labeling them as exaggerated drama and denying any involvement.
