Social media giant Meta Platforms is set to increase its investment in Vietnam to boost the production of its latest mixed reality headsets, incorporating artificial intelligence innovations starting next year. This move is part of Meta’s strategy to strengthen its presence in the country, according to a report from Reuters.
The announcement comes during a visit to Vietnam by Meta’s President of Global Affairs, Nick Clegg, following his meeting with Vietnamese President To Lam in New York just a week ago.
In a statement, Clegg mentioned that by early 2025, Meta will ramp up production of its latest mixed reality device, the Quest 3S, in Vietnam.
Meta has not disclosed details about its current operations or the scale of new investments in the country.
