SpaceX’s Crew Dragon capsule has arrived at the International Space Station (ISS) to bring back two stranded astronauts, Butch Wilmore and Sunita Williams, next year. This was confirmed by NASA and SpaceX on Sunday, according to a report by Reuters.
In a post on social media platform X, NASA announced that after the Dragon capsule docked, NASA astronaut Nick Hague and Russia’s Roscosmos cosmonaut Alexander Gorbunov boarded the ISS.
The SpaceX Crew-9 mission is scheduled to return to Earth next year with a total of four astronauts. Earlier in June, Boeing’s Starliner capsule had arrived at the ISS, but due to mechanical issues, it was unable to bring the astronauts back.
This latest development marks a crucial step in ensuring the safe return of the astronauts after their extended stay in space.
