Recently social media X has been banned in that country but it has been alleged that this platform is being accessed through Starlink. Brazil’s telecoms regulator reportedly threatened penalties against Starlink within hours of Brazil’s top court ordering X’s shutdown.
A senior Anatel official said Starlink’s non-compliance could result in a decision to revoke its license to operate in Brazil as punishment.
Anatel Commissioner Arthur Coimbra said, ‘Starlink is the only company that has told Antel that they will not comply with the judge’s ruling.’ However, Starlink has not made any statement in this regard.
