BYD, China’s largest manufacturer of electric vehicles (EVs), plans to open a factory in Karachi, Pakistan. Besides, the company has also announced the sale of three models of EVs in the country in partnership with Mega Motors of Pakistan. BYD recently announced this. News Reuters.
According to reports, there is a lack of EVs on the road in Pakistan and much-needed charging infrastructure for these vehicles as of now. Therefore, BYD is planning to bring EVs to the country’s market.
Initially, BYD plans to open one flagship store and experience center in three major cities of Pakistan, Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad.
The new factory is said to start operations in 2026. Charging stations will also be installed.
