AMD is acquiring server maker ZT Systems to push itself further into the AI-based chip market. Reuters reported this plan with reference to Nvidia on Monday.
According to reports, AMD plans to acquire 75 percent of the shares in cash and the rest in stock. The acquisition is reportedly being completed for $4.9 billion.
The company’s share price is said to have increased by 3 percent immediately after AMD announced the plan.
