France has been attacked by criminals again. This time some of the country’s optical fiber cables have been cut. Mobile internet services are down in some areas due to cable damage to France’s second, third and fourth top mobile operators. However, internet service is still normal in Paris, the host city of the Olympics.
France has yet again come under attack by criminals in a spate of attacks on its high-speed rail network. This time the target was the country’s glass optic fiber cable.
According to the report of the French newspaper L’Parisian, miscreants cut several fiber cables in some areas of southern France, including Musée and Oise, on Sunday night (July 28). The cables belonged to mobile service providers SFR, Free and Buiga.
Mobile internet services of three operators were closed in some areas, including Marseille, due to damage to transmission lines. However, Orange SA, the Olympics’ telecom partner, said Internet transmission lines in Paris were not affected. So, sports fans and tourists who come to watch the Olympics are still getting mobile internet service.
It should be noted that just a few hours before the opening of the Paris Olympics, miscreants attacked the country’s three high-speed rail networks. For the safety of the passengers, the train service has been stopped temporarily. More than 8 lakh passengers suffered.
