Tech giant Apple has claimed that another giant, Google, conducts CCTV-like surveillance through its Chrome browser. Apple is angry about the privacy of Google’s browser. So, the iPhone maker has decided to stop the search engine. Besides, Apple has suggested using Safari browser instead of Chrome.
The distance between the two arch rivals Apple and Google seems to be increasing with time. Recently, Apple raised questions about the security of the Chrome browser. According to the company, there is a problem with the privacy of users in the browser.
Apple says, use Safari browser instead of Chrome browser. Note that there are currently 1.4 billion Chrome users worldwide. Among them, Apple has advised iPhone users to stop using Chrome.
In fact, Google is trying to quickly migrate Safari users to the Chrome browser. And on iPhone, most searches are done in the Safari browser. Google search is the default option here. Alphabet has signed an agreement with Apple to put Google search in the Safari browser.
Statistics show that 30 percent of iPhone users have the Chrome browser on their phones. Google aims to make it 50 percent. And Apple doesn’t want that. Because the company gets a large portion of its revenue from these users.
Apple claims about Safari
The iPhone maker claims the Safari browser protects users from online tracking. Every time a user visits a website, his data starts being tracked. Ads are shown based on that data. But Apple says this data tracking can be prevented through its Intelligent Tracking Prevention or ITP system.
