The personal computer (PC) market has started to turn around. Global PC sales rose 3.2 percent in the first three months of 2024 (January to March), after seven consecutive quarters of decline over the past two years. This trend of growth continued in the second quarter as well. News Reuters.
According to a recent report published by research firm IDC, sales of personal computers increased by 3 percent worldwide in the second quarter of 2024 compared to the same period last year. That is, from April to June, a total of 64.9 million units of PC were sold in the global market in these three months.
Although the traditional PC market is quite promising compared to 2023, the slowdown in China’s PC market is still not over. Therefore, excluding China, the growth of the global PC market stood at 5 percent.
According to IDC’s preliminary data, Lenovo leads the personal computer market in terms of sales, with a market share of 22.7 percent. HP is right next with a 21.1 percent share. Next in the list are Dell, Apple and Acer.
