Iran is building the largest space center in the Middle East. This space center is being built in the country’s port city of Chabahar. Reports Tasnim News.
According to the news, Iran’s Minister of Communication and Information Technology, Isa Jaripour, confirmed the matter. During a recent visit to Sistan and Balochistan, he said in a press conference that 56 percent of the construction work of the center has been completed so far.
The center will be fully operational by February 2025. This minister also said that Tehran will launch spaceships from this center only after the construction is completed.
The launch of the satellite will be coordinated with other International Space Stations. Analysts expect the space station to contribute well to the country’s economy.
This is not Iran’s first space launch center. Khomeini National Space Center is the first space station in Iran. It was inaugurated in 2017 and has been playing an important role in the space research of the country since its inauguration.
Apart from this, as there are plans to launch and control earth observation satellites from this centre, it is being placed very close to the equator.
