Microsoft has lowered the subscription fee for CoPilot, an artificial intelligence (AI)-based chatbot for small businesses. They can use this chatbot for only 20 dollars, that is 10 dollars less than the previous plan. Yahoo Finance said that the technology company has taken this step to increase sales.
Microsoft launched AI-based chatbot CoPilot last year for free use on the Bing search engine, according to news agency Reuters from Davos, Switzerland. Back then, the subscription fee for large companies was $30 per month. And there was a condition of having at least 300 members. Now individual users have to spend $20 per month on CoPilot Pro subscription. This subscription offers AI-based text-drafting, simple calculations in Microsoft’s popular applications Word and Excel. Along with this, customers will benefit from using new tools and AI models like GPT-4 Turbo.
Microsoft’s CoPilot Pro is entering the increasingly competitive consumer market. Parallelly, Google is competing with Microsoft for AI technology and cloud software business customers. And Microsoft invested last year in OpAI, the founder of ChatGPT chatbot. A $20 subscription called ChatGPT Plus was announced about a year ago. This facilitates the use of new features based on AI.
However, earlier Microsoft’s AI chatbot was aimed at larger businesses. The pricing strategy was designed to keep small businesses and individuals out. In the new announcement, the company has dropped this condition. Corporate vice president Jared Spataro said Microsoft expects all business customers to sign up for CoPilot now.
