According to the report, Saudi Arabian Airlines Saudia has signed an agreement to buy 100 Lilium jets keeping the flying taxi plan in mind. The company will buy German Electric Vertical Take-off and Landing (EVTOL) aircraft.
Abdullah Al Shahrani, Director of Corporate Communications of Saudia Group, said that this initiative is being taken to facilitate the travel of Umrah pilgrims from Jeddah King Abdulaziz Airport to Makkah Hotel and other holy places near the Grand Mosque. EVTOL Air Taxi can carry a maximum of six passengers.
However, there is no definite information about when this service will be launched.
