On the occasion of Victory Day, a seminar was held in Startup Bangladesh Limited on Tuesday, 27th of December. The seminar was organized in the corporate office of the venture capital company. Dr Qazi Kholiquzzaman Ahmad, Chairman of Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF) graced seminar as the Keynote speaker.
The seminar was presided over by Mr N M Zeaul Alam, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Startup Bangladesh and Senior Secretary of the ICT Division. Mr Sami Ahmed, Managing Director of Startup Bangladesh, joined moderated the seminar and along with him, Wasim Alim, CEO of Chaldal Limited; Tawhida Shiropa, CEO of Moner Bandhu, etc. shared their views.
Meanwhile, the Member of the Company’s Board of Directors, Mr. Md. Shamsul Arefin, Secretary, Coordination & Reforms, Cabinet Division; Mr Ranjit Kumar, Executive Director of Bangladesh Computer Council; Arif Khan, Vice Chairman of Shanta Asset Management Limited, and senior executives and officers of the company were present. Founders and Senior executives of portfolio companies of Startup Bangladesh were also present.
In the speech of, the keynote speaker. Kazi Khalikuzzaman Ahmad said, “The development that we are seeing today started from the time of the 6-point movement. The Father of the Nation, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman initiated human-centered development in post-war nation-building. In order to build a prosperous Bangladesh, GDP growth is not enough but also GDP needs to be shared equally. Only then it is possible to build a smart Bangladesh in the future.”
In the speech of the Chairman, N M Zeaul Alam said that Startup Bangladesh has been working for the country’s economic progress since its inception. He urged the officers and employees of the startups to play an active role in the country’s development by being inspired by the spirit of the great liberation war.
In his speech, Sami Ahmed said that the ICT sector will contribute 5% to Bangladesh’s GDP by 2025. During the Corona period, the common people got numerous benefits from the under Digital Bangladesh Vision. Startup Bangladesh is investing in innovative Startups with a vision to develop the ICT sector across the country to build a Smart Bangladesh.
