The Internet Service Providers Association of Bangladesh (ISPAB) distributed essential food items to flood victims in four districts on Thursday. Being divided into two teams, the items were distributed to the flood affected people in Sylhet, Sunamganj, Jamalpur and
from morning till evening.
ISPAB Secretary General Nazmul Karim Bhuiyan so far has handed over the relief items to 350 families in Pagla of Sunamganj.
The joint secretary general of ISPAB and the convener of the relief distribution committee Md. Abdul Qayyum Rashed was accompanied by ISPAB member Golam Kibria of Techno Asia, Abul Hasan Rana of Nabira Net and local representative Habibur Rahman during this time of distribution.
In the afternoon, a packet of daily necessities was distributed among 320 local victims in the flood-hit area of Sylhet district under the supervision of ISPAB representative King Naeem.
Similarly, ISPAB has provided assistance to 300 flood victims in Sherpur and Jamalpur through Touhid Hossain, convener of Mymensingh Divisional Committee.
Apart from distributing relief, a meeting was also held with the locals regarding the broadband network of the affected areas, informed the ISPAB Secretary General. He said that while talking to the Brahmanbaria district committee, they demanded the establishment of NIX there. In addition, several CCRs and OLDs were destroyed in Sylhet, including the loss of thousands of ONU in Sunamganj was witnessed during the field visit. Talking to them, the local ISP traders sought the overall help of the IIGs to overcome the sudden disaster in the flood-hit areas.
