The broadband internet connection has been inaugurated in 22 unions of Nawabganj and Dohar Upazilas of Dhaka under the Info-Sarkar 3rd phase project.
Prime Minister’s Private Industry and Investment Adviser Salman Fazlur Rahman inaugurated this broadband connection at a function held in Nawabganj on October 9.
In his inaugural address, he called upon the people to strengthen the hand of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the advancement of Digital Bangladesh by working properly from her place.
Speaking on the occasion, State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak outlined plans to build a high-tech hardware park in the middle of Nawabganj and Dohar Upazilas.
Palak also said that 15 lakh youths have been employed in the ICT sector during the tenure of the present government. Export income of the ICT industry has increased.
Bikarno Kumar Ghosh, Managing Director, Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority was the special guest on the occasion. The event was presided over by Dhaka Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate Shahidul Islam.
The opening ceremony was attended by high-ranking officials of the local administration, including freelancers.
