Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has directed to make separate allocations for scientists and researchers with utmost importance on projects directly related to the welfare of the people and ensure that each ministry spends its allocations in the research sector properly.
The NEC chairperson instructed the National Economic Council (NEC) meeting on Tuesday (May 18th) to make up for the loss of the corona pandemic.
Planning Minister MA Mannan briefed the message to the reporters at noon after the meeting.
He said the head of government has instructed the meeting to set aside a separate allocation to compensate for the loss caused by the Corona pandemic Ministries like health or agriculture affairs should undergo researches. There must have funds. We need to do research. So, scientists, researchers should be kept. ‘
The meeting was held at the Sher-e-Bangla Nagar NEC auditorium at 10.30 am. Besides, some ministers and secretaries from the cabinet department of the secretariat also joined the meeting.
She further added mentioning the current era that nobody can walk alone in this era. In the present age, we have to go with everyone. Now the world is a Global Village, that is, in the age of modern technology, the whole world has got an opportunity to communicate with everyone. So to use this technology and to be able to use it, technology also causes problems again, all together we have to choose the best from it and move forward. We can do that. Today’s NSE Meeting has approved an Annual Development Programme (ADP) with an expenditure of Tk. 236,793.9 crore for 1,515 projects in the new financial year (2021-22). The national assembly will give final approval for the allocation.
