The government has announced a countrywide lockdown due to the deteriorating corona situation. The Prime Minister’s Office has issued various instructions to stop the movement of public transport across the country from April 5 to April 11 and to continue the activities in the offices and courts with limited staff.
As per the directives, this limited number of activities will also include all types of online activities including internet or telecom services and online shopping.

Telephone and internet, postal services have been mentioned as emergency services in serial number ‘b’ of the instruction. As per the instructions, the offices concerned with this service, their employees and vehicles will be excluded from this restriction or will be able to move on the road.
Emdadul Haque, General Secretary of ISPAB, said that e-mails have been sent to the members of ISPAB, including the issue of the inclusion of Internet service providers as emergency services.
Meanwhile, the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (BTRC) has instructed the officials and employees of the telecommunication service providers to carry their official identity cards following the directives of the Prime Minister’s Office.
Due to the deteriorating Corona situation, other shops including shopping malls have been closed for the next 7 days from the morning of April 5. At the same time, it has been banned to take food from food shops and hotels and restaurants.

Mohammad Abdul Wahed Tamal, general secretary of the E-Commerce Association of Bangladesh (ECAB), informed that initiatives have been taken to expand online shopping to remote areas of the villages and training sessions of e-commerce entrepreneurs have been arranged.
