As part of its commitment to expanding renewable energy, Edotco Bangladesh, the country’s leading telecommunications infrastructure service provider, has installed a 2.2-kilowatt uninterrupted solar power connection at St. Francis High School in Dinajpur. Provided entirely free of charge under Edotco’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative “Tower to Power,” the installation will bring relief to the school’s 250 students and staff, who have long struggled with electricity shortages.
The inauguration ceremony was held at the school gate, where Edotco Bangladesh’s Country Managing Director Sunil Isaac, Engineering Director Dr. Sabbir Ahmed, and Operations Director Md. Monowar Sikdar cut the ribbon to mark the occasion. Also present at the event were Dinajpur District Education Officer Md. Rafiqul Islam, Church Bishop Sebastian Tudu, and School Superior General Bina S. Rosario.
Speaking at the event, Sunil Isaac, Country Managing Director of Edotco Bangladesh, said, “At Edotco, we are committed to leveraging our infrastructure for the greater good, ensuring that network connectivity brings positive change to people’s lives. The ‘Tower to Power’ initiative is a testament to this vision, as it addresses electricity shortages in underserved areas through renewable energy solutions. By supplying electricity to St. Francis High School and its hostel, we are not just illuminating classrooms but also ensuring a stable and comfortable environment for students. Through initiatives like these, we aim to contribute to educational advancement, sustainable development, and meaningful social impact.”
The “Tower to Power” initiative is a long-term CSR program of Edotco Group. Since its launch in 2017, it has positively impacted the lives of 65,000 underprivileged individuals in Bangladesh by providing access to sustainable energy.
