Amid criticism and protests, the Internet Service Providers Association of Bangladesh (ISPAB) is heading for elections again, just a year after assuming office. On Thursday, the Election Commission sent the official schedule to members.
According to the schedule, voting for the ISPAB Executive Committee for the 2025-27 term will take place on May 17.
As per the election schedule, signed by Election Chairman Mohammad Ali, the final voter list will be published on April 9, following which the distribution of nomination papers will begin and continue until April 16.
This year, the nomination paper fees have been doubled. General members will have to pay BDT 100,000 to contest for a director position, while associate members must pay BDT 50,000. Additionally, collecting the final voter list will cost BDT 1,000.
The preliminary voter list is set to be released on Monday, March 24, at 4:00 PM. Candidates can submit their nomination papers on April 17, while the final candidate list will be published on April 27 at 5:00 PM.
