A leader of the banned organization Chhatra League at Pabna University of Science and Technology (PUST) has been detained and handed over to the police by students. The individual, identified as Salman Farsi Shovon, serves as the president of the Faculty of Biological and Earth Sciences Chhatra League unit at the university.
Confirming the arrest, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Pabna Sadar Police Station, Abdus Salam, stated that Shovon was apprehended at approximately 5:00 PM on Friday (January 31) at the grounds of Government Edward College.
According to police reports, a publication event organized by the student wing of Jamaat-e-Islami, Islami Chhatra Shibir, was taking place at Government Edward College. Shovon was reportedly riding his motorcycle around the college premises when a group of individuals recognized him and detained him. Following a call to the emergency hotline 999, police arrived at the scene and took him into custody.
