Khulna’s Sushovon Bachar has secured the top position in the admission test for the 2024-25 academic session of government and private medical colleges across Bangladesh. Despite ranking third in his college’s preliminary test, Sushovon from Khulna Model School and College achieved the highest score of 90.75 in the national merit list. The results were officially announced on Sunday, January 19.
Sushovon’s father, Subhash Chandra Bachar, is an English teacher at a secondary school. The family resides in the Boyra area of Khulna. Sushovon is their only child.
Mohammad Sanjid Apurba Bin Siraj from Chittagong College claimed the second position nationally with a test score of 90.5 and a merit score of 190.5. Sheikh Tasnim Ferdous from Sheikh Abdul Wahab College, Abhaynagar, Jashore, secured the third position with a score of 89.5.
Other top scorers in the national merit list include:
- 5th Place: Sumaiya Jahan from Holy Cross College.
- 6th Place: Mohammad Aftab Ahmed Joy from Notre Dame College.
- 7th Place: Mohammad Marhamat-ul Karim from Rajshahi Collegiate School and College.
- 8th Place: Mohammad Faizur Rahman from Notre Dame College.
- 9th Place: Tasnima Tabassum from Holy Cross College.
- 10th Place: S.M. Muntasir Mostafiz from Police Lines College, Rangpur.
The outstanding performances of these students have set a benchmark for academic excellence in the country’s medical education sector.
