A training workshop on “AI for Immersive Technology” was inaugurated today, Tuesday, at the administrative building conference room of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Digital University (BDU), Gazipur, Kaliakair. The training is being organized under the supervision of the Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority through the BDCET project, with D Crowd IT Ltd. conducting the program.
On the same day, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the organizations. Registrar Muhammad Ataur Rahman Khan signed the MoU on behalf of the university, while Raktim Sharma, Managing Director of D Crowd IT Ltd., signed on behalf of the BDCET project.
Following this, the workshop was inaugurated by the Vice-Chancellor of the university, Professor Dr. Mohammad Abu Yusuf. In his keynote address, Professor Dr. Mohammad Abu Yusuf urged students to prioritize such training programs. He said, “No matter how challenging it may seem, you must make time for these trainings. Through them, you will develop as skilled human resources for the nation.”
The inaugural ceremony was chaired by BDCET Project Director (Joint Secretary) Md. Amirul Islam. Other notable speakers included the university’s Treasurer, Professor Dr. Md. Anwar Hossain, and Professor Dr. Md. Mashiul Haque, Director of the IT Business Incubator at CUET and Director of IEEE Bangladesh Section, who attended as a special guest. The event was moderated by Md. Taukir Ahmed, Lecturer in the Department of IRE and Director of the NICC Cell at the university.
The National and International Collaboration Cell (NICC) of the university coordinated the inauguration and MoU signing ceremonies. The event was attended by department heads, faculty members, and students from various departments.
