A seminar titled “Empowering Women With Technology” will be held on Saturday at the Bishwa Sahitya Kendra auditorium in Banglamotor, Dhaka. Organized by ICT Olympiad Bangladesh, the event will highlight the inspiring achievements of women in the country’s technology sector. Speakers will share their experiences of skill, courage, and success while registered participants will also have the opportunity to learn about effective use of technology and strategies for earning through it.
The program commenced at 10:00 am with the “Glory Girls Orientation.” During the meet-and-greet session, Faatiha Aayat, a Bangladeshi-American writer, child rights activist, and climate change reformer residing in New York, addressed the attendees.
Following this, prominent women professionals shared their real-life experiences during a panel discussion. Speakers include Fahmida Hossain, Chairman of Elegant IT; Syeda Nafisa Reza Barsha, MD of Doctorola; Tamanna Zahan, Founder of Zahan Education Consulting; Sumaiya Haque, MD of Designers to Interiors; and Arupa Dutta, an interior architect.
A subsequent session will feature discussions on women’s empowerment through technology by notable experts such as Nowrin Haque Hridi, Founder of Dark Kak; Sabila Inun, Director of Decastalia; Syeda Naushad Jahan Promi, Chairman of Together Initiatives; and Dr. Tanziba Rahman, Chairman of the Bangladesh Freelancing Development Society (BFDS).
As part of the ICT Olympiad’s second edition, the ICTOB Glory Girls team has also been announced. Led by Snigdha Dey, the team includes Sakiba, Sabikun Nahar Rimmy, Ishrat Jahan Qadri, Kiafat Nuzha, Samia Alma, Oishi Debnath, Rehnuma Tabassum, Mishkatul Alam Joba, Samia Tasnim, Saraban Tahura Nova, and Fabliha Affaf.
