Bangladesh’s team, Robo Superior, is competing in the daring global competition Moonshot Pirates, themed around the Apollo mission to the moon. To advance to the final stage, the team must first clear two steps. The immediate challenge is securing victory through online voting, which remains open until 9 PM Bangladesh time on December 18.
If successful in this round, the six-member team will present their project to the judges. Securing the judges’ approval would qualify them for the final event in Silicon Valley, where they will compete for funding opportunities.
To vote, supporters need to visit the voting link, search for “Robo Superior,” and cast their vote by entering their name and email. Votes must be verified via email to be counted.
Organized annually since 2019 by Moonshot Pirates in Vienna, Austria, the competition challenges participants aged 15-24 to address future challenges and meet sustainable development goals. This year, over 2,000 participants are competing, with a focus on addressing future food crises. Teams must present innovative, tech-driven solutions that highlight the importance of alternative protein sources and affordable plant-based food options.
The competition involves four phases. First, participants must apply to join the event. Next, shortlisted projects are allowed to form teams. In the third phase, each team submits their project. The fourth phase, now underway, involves public voting, which will determine the top seven finalists. These finalists will pitch their ideas to the judges in the final stage, after which one team will be declared the winner.
The winning team will receive a fully-funded trip to Silicon Valley, where they will pitch their idea to investors and have the chance to secure a startup fund.
