Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) has announced the date for its admission tests for the academic year 2024-25. The university administration has decided to conduct the tests on February 22, 2025, using its own method. The examinations for the Science faculty’s ‘A’ unit and the Humanities faculty’s ‘B’ unit will be held in two sessions—morning and afternoon, respectively. Applications for the tests will open from January 5 and close on January 25.
The decision was made during the 179th meeting of the university’s Academic Council on Thursday, as confirmed by Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. A.M. Sarwaruddin Chowdhury. Additionally, the council resolved to waive tuition fees for students injured during the student-public uprising in July and August.
According to sources within the Academic Council, SUST will independently conduct its first-year admission test starting from the 2024-25 academic session. The ‘A’ unit test for science students will begin at 10:00 am on February 22, while the ‘B’ unit test for science, humanities, and commerce students will be held the same day at 2:30 pm.
For the first time, SUST will organize the admission tests in divisional cities, including Dhaka, Chattogram, Rajshahi, and Sylhet. The details of the examinations will be published in an upcoming admission notice.
