One of the great pioneers of innovation and discovery, Muslim scientist Al-Haytham, also known as Alhazen in the West, is celebrated for his groundbreaking contributions to optics, the study of light, and scientific thought. In his honor, a unique science festival will be held on December 29 at Suhrawardy Udyan in the capital to inspire secondary and higher secondary students to engage in real-life scientific exploration.
The festival will feature booths on physics, chemistry, and astronomy, along with scientific documentary screenings and career counseling booths. It will run from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
For young science enthusiasts, competitions and awards have been arranged. Students from grades 5 to 12 can participate in events like Rubik’s Cube challenges and instant problem-solving competitions. Registration for the competitions is free and can be done online from home. The registration deadline is December 25.
