The “RUET Cyber Fest 2024,” hosted by Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET) and sponsored by Smart Technologies (BD) Ltd., took place on December 5-6. The event aimed to raise awareness about cybersecurity and foster technological innovation among students.
Under the theme “Advanced Cyber Security Awareness and Innovation,” the fest featured seminars on cyberbullying, personal data protection laws, safe internet practices, and various aspects of cybersecurity. Smart Technologies’ pavilion showcased products from brands like Kaspersky, Netis, Smart laptops, and Corsair accessories, drawing significant interest from attendees.
Industry experts engaged with students, answering questions and sharing safe internet practices. The general secretary of the RUET Cyber Security Club stated, “This event will enhance students’ knowledge and promote innovative thinking. We plan to expand the fest in the future.”
Smart Technologies introduced a new laptop priced at BDT 28,000, featuring a solid-state drive and two years of international after-sales service. Mahfuzur Rahman Mukul, Media and Communication Manager at Smart Technologies, noted, “The response has been outstanding, particularly for our new laptops and tech products. We’re eager to bring more smart products in the future.”
Organizers believe the event has opened new opportunities for tech enthusiasts and innovators, spreading the significance of technology and cybersecurity awareness among students. RUET’s leadership in promoting technology and awareness was reaffirmed through this initiative.
