A new English language app, Parlo, has been launched in Bangladesh, aiming to make learning English easier and more enjoyable. The app features advanced voice recognition technology, enabling users to refine their pronunciation and achieve fluency quickly. It is available for download on both Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
The app is expected to bridge the educational gap in language skills and help create a skilled workforce for the global market. The content and video materials have been developed by English teachers from the United Kingdom, ensuring a fun and effective learning experience.
The launch event was held at the Lakeshore Hotel in Dhaka on Saturday, November 23. Professor Craig Mahoney, an EdTech expert and the CEO of Parlo, was the keynote speaker. He remarked, “Everyone has potential, and Parlo aims to unlock that by making conversational English accessible to all. English is no longer just a language but a gateway to opportunities. By launching this app in Bangladesh, we are giving the youth a chance to shape a brighter future. Learning English can transform lives and open multiple career doors.”
Carolyn Everard, Head of Product and Content at Parlo, added, “The content created by UK-based English teachers is designed to be understood by learners of all levels. Language should never be a barrier to success, and we are thrilled to contribute to this vision in such a promising country.”
The event was attended by key partners and dignitaries, including Parlo’s Bangladesh partner Md. Selim, Md. Kawsar Alam, East West University’s Professor Dr. Nikhil Chandra Shil, Shanta Asset Vice Chairman Arif Khan, Lever Angear Limited’s CEO Md. Jahangir Alam, and Bata Bangladesh’s Finance Director Elias Ahmed.
