Bangladesh University warmly welcomed its Fall Semester 2024 freshers with flowers and a formal introduction program held on Monday, November 25, at the university’s permanent campus auditorium.
Leadership Messages
Professor Dr. Md. Jahangir Alam, Acting Vice-Chancellor of Bangladesh University, presided over the event. Addressing the new students, he emphasized, “There is no substitute for education and perseverance in the pursuit of knowledge.” He encouraged students to make the most of the university’s robust educational facilities.
Registrar Brig. Gen. Md. Mahbubul Haque (Retd.) delivered the welcome speech, while the Secretary of the Board of Trustees, Engineer M.A. Golam Dastagir, and several deans extended their greetings.
Faculty Introductions
Deans representing various faculties introduced their departments:
- Faculty of Business and Economics: Professor Dr. Md. Tajul Islam
- Faculty of Science, Engineering, and Technology: Professor Dr. Nurur Rahman Khan
- Faculty of Arts, Social Sciences, and Law: Professor Md. Humayun Kabir
Heads of departments also presented overviews of their respective programs.
Guidance for Freshers
Senior Assistant Registrar Md. Mashiur Rahman familiarized students with university rules and regulations. Speakers encouraged freshers to utilize the opportunity to pursue their degrees at Bangladesh University, noting that alumni have gone on to hold prestigious positions in national and international institutions.
Celebrating Excellence
In the second segment, Acting Vice-Chancellor Dr. Jahangir Alam distributed awards to winners of the recently concluded Kazi Azhar Ali Memorial Sports Competition. The event concluded with a captivating cultural program.
With over 500 newly enrolled students participating, the event was attended by students, faculty, staff, and guardians, marking a significant milestone for the university and its incoming cohort.
