The World Bank has organized an inspirational exhibition showcasing graffiti and murals centered on the theme of the July-August uprisings. The event, titled “Paint the Sky, Make It Yours: Future Bangladesh in the Eyes of the Youth,” reflects the aspirations of students and young people for a prosperous and inclusive Bangladesh.
The exhibition, hosted at DrikPath Bhaban in Panthapath, Dhaka, was inaugurated on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. by Science, Technology, and Economic Advisor Dr. Salehuddin Ahmed, who also launched a publication during the event.
The exhibition, open to the public daily from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. until November 30, features vibrant graffiti and murals created by youth from 12 districts, including Dhaka, Chattogram, Rajshahi, Khulna, Sylhet, Rangamati, and Bandarban. These artworks highlight crucial themes and challenges for the nation’s future through the perspectives of young minds.
World Bank Country Director for Bangladesh and Bhutan, Abdoulaye Seck, stated during the inauguration, “The World Bank has always recognized the pivotal role youth play in shaping the present and future. This exhibition showcases their creativity and resilience in reflecting on the sacrifices and outcomes of transformative movements.”

The gallery was filled with both local and international art enthusiasts. Popular cartoonist and comic artist Syed Rashad Imam Tanmoy commented to the state news agency BSS, “Graffiti and murals have long questioned societal negatives, yet lacked recognition in festivals. This initiative not only celebrates such art forms but also reshapes perceptions of our youth.”
Senior World Bank officials, including Asia-Pacific Country Director Dr. Valentine Achanchu, attended the event, emphasizing the importance of creative platforms for empowering young voices.
This unique exhibition blends art with activism, fostering conversations about Bangladesh’s cultural identity, history, and the critical role of youth in nation-building.
